MRT Entertainment is not a luxury, but an advantage for workflows and profitability!
Radiological technologists strive to produce high-quality images, ensure patient comfort and keep to the schedule.
However, the biggest hurdle is not the technology, but the patient: fear, movement, claustrophobia.
These factors impair scan quality, disrupt the process and reduce cost-effectiveness. Many facilities rely on headphones or sedatives to solve the problem.
The Tesla Vision projector offers more than entertainment – it is the better solution. The fully MR-certified, touchless and maintenance-free system calms, distracts and creates peace and quiet. The result: faster and clearer scans, fewer delays, happier patients and greater efficiency. In Europe, HappyMed is the exclusive distribution partner of Tesla Vision.
Improve the patient experience where it matters most.
The world of MRI is changing. Thanks to better magnets and AI software, scan times are getting shorter while scan volumes are increasing. But patients’ anxiety is also growing. Even the most modern scanners and large-tube systems cannot prevent this: studies show that almost 30% of patients feel anxious or restless during an MRI examination. This impairs both imaging and efficiency.
Many centres do not record the rescan rate at all, or only do so incompletely. They have hardly any internal processes in place to systematically check how often and to what extent repeats are necessary. As a result, the problem usually remains invisible – as do the economic consequences. MRI manufacturers do not offer a function in their software to document or evaluate rescans. They classify this as a ‘user problem’.
Studies show that movement and artefacts in MRIs are common reasons for rescans – resulting in high costs and productivity losses. A key study („Toward Quantifying the Prevalence, Severity, and Cost Associated With Patient Motion During Clinical MR Examinations“, Andre et al., 2015) found that:
- 19.8% of all MRI examinations had to be repeated at least partially because motion artefacts impaired image quality.
- For inpatients and emergency patients, the rescan rate was as high as 29.4%.
Other studies show that motion artefacts occur in up to 59% of neuro-MRI examinations and often necessitate repeat scans.
